Punjab Government issue notice to lovely professional university for violated lockdown during a pandemic situation
(COVID 19). According to the Punjab government lovely professional university has endangered the lives of students and faculty.
Government Of Punjab education ministry slapped with a notice to their management of the lovely professional university, situated in Phagwara. A copy of the notice has been shared with Kapurthala Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Deepti Uppal.
The government of Punjab asks the university to explain the reason why there was not complete lockdown during a pandemic situation ( COVID-19). The letter has been issued for violating the lockdown instructions of the government of India under the Epidemic Diseases Act and not following the order for section 144 crpc by the lovely professional university.
As there is a student of Lovely professional university who had tested positive for COVID-19 on April 11 and the other 40 samples have been sent for testing. Kapurthala MLA Rana Gurjit Singh and Bhartiya Janta Party Leader Vijay Sampla demanded action against the university for violating lockdown regulations.
Significantly, this negligence of the university has endangered the lives of about 3200 students, teachers, staff and staff studying there. The Higher Education Department of Punjab has issued a notice to the university seeking a reply. However, it is believed that the Punjab government and administration are preparing for strong action against the university.
The report says’s of a second-year student of physiotherapy has come up positive in the Jalandhar campus of the university. After this, 2050 people were screened here. It is also alleged that the campus was not completely closed despite the government’s order. About 3000+ people lost their lives in danger.
However, at the moment it is reported that the report of 40 people who came in contact with the student has come negative. But given the seriousness of the matter, the Higher Education Department has issued a notice to the University asking why strict action should be taken against them for this negligence and the No Objection Certificate given to them should be withdrawn.
